After a grueling 10 week UX design boot-camp from BrainStation, my fellow UX colleges and I decided to keep productivity up with a design challenge. This is a 1 week design project that focuses on our abilities to analyze an existing design, communicate ideas, and evolve an existing service through design.
Meet the Team!
We had first began by sifting through various apps we had experience with at a coffee shop. We had several discussions on popular apps at the time; such as the Olympics, social media, games, and any other apps that piqued our interests. At the end of the day, we had decided on an app we had thought to be downright embarrassing, and needed redesigning for people.
GreenP - Toronto Parking Authority
The app we had decided to redesign, is a Toronto based parking app known as GreenP. The application functioned with the user first creating an account, finding a parking lot, submitting a 3 digit location ID code, and finalizing their payment method.
Overall Rating: 5.8/10
As an aspiring UI/UX designer at the time, obsessed with Google software, and Samsung devices; this was my first attempt at an iOS design. Throughout a personal challenge of designing outside my comfort zone, it was an exciting opportunity to further grow as a designer. Working with close friends outside the classroom, and in a coffee shop; I had the opportunity to work in a mixture of casual, mature, and an enjoyably unfiltered environment.
